Claire has spent her entire 30-year career at KPM LAW, developing strong personal connections with her clients which allows her to better understand their needs and more effectively represent their legal interests. Claire graduated from Virginia Tech in 1987 and earned her law degree in 1990 from the University of Richmond School of Law followed by a 2-year clerkship for Senior Justice Richard H. Poff of the Supreme Court of Virginia.  In 1992, Claire became KPM LAW’s first associate and was promoted to partner in 1998.  She established the firm’s Workers’ Compensation Practice Group in 1999 and has successfully built a team of dedicated attorneys throughout the firm’s 4 statewide offices. Under Claire’s guidance, her team helps carriers improve their claims handling process and helps employers reduce safety risks to reduce claims. By providing adjusters, safety and risk managers with regular legal training, quick responses to questions, timely updates of new developments in the law, and a defense approach tailored to each client, Claire and her team have effectively redefined the traditional attorney/client relationship into a mutually beneficial attorney-client partnership.

Claire frequently speaks at national and local conferences and is very active in several national workers’ compensation organizations.  She holds an AV-preeminent rating from Martindale Hubble and is a fellow of the College of Workers’ Compensation Lawyers. Claire has also has been named multiple times to Best Lawyers in America, America’s Top 100 Attorneys, Top Attorneys in Virginia, Top Attorneys in Richmond, Legal Elite, Virginia Super Lawyers, Best Lawyers Women in Law and Women Leaders in the Law.
