David is the managing partner in the firm's Norfolk office, which he joined in 1997. David's practice emphasizes commercial and catastrophic injury-related tort litigation, and he has litigated premises liability, construction, products liability and tractor-trailer accident cases in both state and federal court. David is the managing partner in the firm’s Norfolk office, which he joined in 1997. David’s practice emphasizes commercial and catastrophic injury-related tort litigation, and he has litigated premises liability, construction, products liability and tractor-trailer accident cases in both state and federal court. He has developed a focus within his practice on the defense of quick service retail, restaurant and hospitality enterprises and has a long history of successful results for his retail and hospitality centered clients.

David has also defended both insurance carriers and home builders in recent defective Chinese Drywall litigation in both the federal Multi-District Litigation in the Eastern District of Louisiana and in Virginia state courts, and won the first Summary Judgment in a case of first impression in the Commonwealth of Virginia on issues related to the application of homeowner’s coverage for homes built with defective Chinese Drywall. He is a former member of the Sports & Fitness Industry Association Legal Task Force, the Defense Resources Institute and the Norfolk and Portsmouth Bar Association.

David practices in state and federal courts throughout Virginia and is a graduate of Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University where he received his bachelor’s degree, and University of Richmond School of Law where he received his law degree, and more recently, has attended the CLM Litigation Management Institute and obtained the designation of the Certified Litigation Management Professional (CLMP). Prior to joining KPM LAW’s Norfolk office, David spent seven years as a prosecutor in Tidewater, Virginia where he tried hundreds of cases, specializing in the prosecution of violent offenders.
