Stephanie M. Harp is a Partner in KPM LAW’s Roanoke office, where she focuses her practice on commercial and construction litigation and insurance defense and coverage matters. Her approach is shaped by more than 20 years of experience representing both plaintiffs and defendants in high-stakes litigation. That dual-perspective insight allows her to anticipate opposing strategies, identify leverage points early, and build strong, efficient litigation strategies designed to position cases for the best possible outcome. Stephanie earned her undergraduate degree from Centenary College of Louisiana in 2000 and her J.D. from the University of Houston Law Center in 2003. She is admitted to practice in Texas and Virginia. Early in her career, Stephanie gained significant first-chair experience in both state and federal courts representing insurance carriers, individuals, and businesses. She handled dozens of jury and bench trials as lead counsel and developed a reputation for trial expertise. She also built a strong appellate practice, handling numerous appeals and oral arguments before Courts of Appeals. Stephanie views her role as more than handling legal disputes. She strives to be a steady, reliable guide through a complex and often stressful process, translating legal issues into understandable frameworks so clients feel informed, supported, and confident. She is driven by the belief that clients deserve a fierce advocate when their business, livelihood, or peace of mind is at stake, and she is committed to protecting their interests with thoughtful, determined advocacy. Outside the office, Stephanie is a certified permaculture designer, native landscaping designer, master naturalist, and equestrian. When she is not at the firm, she can often be found in work boots with a toolbelt, working on her ranch in her little slice of Appalachia.
