Tanya Joan Chor

Tanya is an experienced litigation attorney licensed in Virginia, the District of Columbia, and New York, bringing more than twenty years of legal experience to her practice.  She has spent over seventeen years serving as Agency Counsel with the District of Columbia Public Schools (DCPS) Office of the General Counsel, where she played a critical role in supporting one of the largest public school systems in the region. As one of the Senior Counsel at the Office of General Counsel, Tanya provided strategic legal advice, training, and representation on a wide range of matters involving compliance with federal and local laws, as well as internal agency policies. She was also deeply involved in mentoring and training new attorneys and other office personnel. In addition to her administrative litigation work, Tanya has presented in federal court proceedings, mediation and settlement negotiations with opposing parties and their counsel. Tanya has a deep understanding of administrative litigation, is known for her thoughtful counsel, aggressive advocacy, and commitment to excellence in service to her clients.
