Drug Offense Attorney

Don't let a drug or firearm charge ruin your life.

KP&M will fight for you or your loved one to level the playing field both in and out of the courtroom.

In Virginia, drug and firearm offenses carry some of the most serious penalties. If this is your second or third offense, you could actually serve more time than someone who committed murder. If you are facing federal criminal charges, then the penalties are even more severe. The attorneys at KP&M have years of experience defending criminal drug and firearm cases throughout Virginia at both the federal and state levels. KP&M has obtained jury acquittals as well as court dismissals of serious felony drug and firearm charges in both federal and state courts. We can bring our knowledge and experience to any federal or state court in Virginia to give you or your loved one the defense they deserve.

KP&M can help you navigate through all of the tough issues related to drug and firearm charges, including:
  • How can I make bail?
  • What happens if I plead guilty to a conspiracy charge?
  • How can I attack the forensic (scientific) evidence against me?
  • What kind of sentence will I face if I do plead guilty?
  • What effect will my prior criminal record have on my case?
Drug offenses such as possession with intent to distribute controlled substances and conspiracy to distribute require an aggressive and experienced trial attorney. The penalties for such offenses generally depend on the type of drug involved (e.g. cocaine, methamphetamine, heroine, marijuana). The penalties also depend on the quantity of drugs involved in the offense and whether you have prior convictions. A charge of conspiracy to distribute drugs is especially dangerous because you could be held responsible for all of the drugs sold by other persons in the conspiracy-- even persons you did not know! A felony drug conviction can change your life. Don’t take these charges lightly, let KP&M fight for you or your loved one.

Firearms charges also carry severe penalties and often accompany drug charges. Have you or your loved one been charged with possession of a firearm after a felony conviction? Have you been charged with possession of a firearm in connection with a drug trafficking crime? Many of these offenses carry mandatory minimum jail sentences if you are convicted and the sentence must run consecutive (not concurrent) to any other jail sentence you receive. Your sentence for these offenses can be enhanced if the gun is an automatic weapon, uses a silencer or has armor piercing bullets. The federal and state governments have recently initiated programs to “clean up the streets” and are aggressively targeting guns crimes. If you or your loved one has been the target of a gun charge, let KP&M guide you through the firing range.
